October 2, 2019 Regional Safety Seminar - Fort Worth

About the Workshop

Safety is serious business for Texas community centers.  This one-day seminar addresses current safety issues and provides guidance for managing community center safety programs.  It will offer members practical solutions to help reduce accidents, injuries and resulting losses.  This seminar will be conducted by safety professionals of the Texas Council Risk Management Fund (Fund).  Topics include:

Claims Analysis.  An in depth look at the Fund’s claims over the last five years. In addition to discussing statistics and trends, we will identify the most common accident types. We will then discuss best practices Fund members can undertake to control their own claims costs.

Driving Safety.  Motor vehicle accidents rank as one of the top three accident types within the Fund. In this presentation, we will discuss best practices employees can use to keep themselves safe when behind the wheel.

Security and Threat Assessments.  The ability to identify security deficiencies is an important first step to addressing potential safety hazards in regards to threats and aggressive behavior. In this presentation, we will discuss different security measures that will help enhance security at your facilities and keep employees safe.

Field Safety. Employees who conduct business away from the office face ever changing safety concerns on a daily basis. In this presentation, we will discuss five aspects of visiting consumers and how diligent employees need to be with their own safety.

Strains & Sprains/Ergonomics.  Some of the most common and sometimes serious injuries are caused by not focusing on the relationship between what we do and how we do it. This presentation will help bring clarity to this relationship in order to reduce these type of injuries.
