The Fund has always taken seriously the concerns and precautions that surround the issue of medical information privacy. The Fund does not compile, market, profile, or otherwise use individually identifiable health information for any reason unrelated to the administration of its members’ benefit programs. The Fund applies the same policies to former members and their employees that it applies to current members and employees. The Fund may amend its privacy policy from time to time.

The type of information the Fund may collect:

The Fund collects nonpublic personal information about members’ employees through the information received through applications or other forms, in writing, in person, by telephone, or electronically. This information may include, for example: name, address, social security number, date of birth, marital status, dependent information, other insurance coverage information (including prior coverage) employment information, and medical history. The Fund also collects information through transactions with members, affiliates, and others that include, for example, claims submissions and stop loss/reinsurance submissions.

Information disclosure:

The Fund does not disclose any nonpublic information about its members or former members to anyone, except as permitted by law.

Privacy safeguards:

The Fund restricts access to nonpublic personal information to those persons who need to know that information in order to do their jobs or provide service to members and their employees. The Fund maintains safeguards to protect nonpublic personal information against unauthorized access and use.
