Define Coaching vs. Directing. Clearly distinguish what coaching is—and what it is not—compared to directing or managing.

Identify Coaching Opportunities. Recognize situations where coaching is appropriate, including both planned and spontaneous moments for growth and learning.

Differentiate Coaching and Directing. Understand when to use a coaching approach versus a directing approach, including the pros and cons of each.

Discuss Three Coaching Styles. Explore and reflect on the three primary coaching styles: Directing, Guiding, and Enabling. Identify your own natural tendency.

Review and Apply the Coaching Process. Learn and practice the five-step coaching process, using effective questioning techniques at each stage.

Practice Self-Coaching. Apply self-coaching strategies to your own professional development and reflect on personal opportunities for growth.
