Join the RMAC for a new look at the almost desperate issues of hiring and retaining community center staff. Thomas Bledsoe, HR Director at Tarrant MHMR, and Creslyn Foster, Chief of Human Resources at Spindletop, will discuss new ideas and strategies for recruiting, hiring, and retaining staff in this topsy turvy employment market. The creative use of PTO, alternative work schedules, signing bonuses, student loan payoffs, and other measures will be discussed as community centers compete with the private sector and other large public entities for qualified and compassionate candidates. Immigration issues and visa delays for new and currently employed staff that are affecting some centers will be discussed by Richard Block, an immigration attorney from Lewis Brisbois in Fort Lauderdale.
