The Fund is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees elected by the Fund membership. Each trustee must also be a member of a local center board.
Trustees serve overlapping three-year terms, with one-third of the members’ terms expiring at the end of each calendar year. Annual Board elections are conducted in the fall of each year and election results are confirmed at the Annual Meeting held in association with the fall Board meeting. Centers are notified of the election schedule in advance, and have the opportunity to nominate one or more candidates as well as cast ballots as part of the election process.
The Board makes all major policy decisions. It meets four times per year, and also meets for annual strategic planning and board training sessions.
