Center and Fund professionals with significant experience preparing for and responding to disasters all around Texas will present the most important elements of disaster response. Particular emphasis will be placed on the recovery process whether it is from a hurricane, active shooter event, ice storm or flood. The importance of the emergency plan document will also be discussed with examples
The workshop will be conducted at the Sheraton at the Capitol; 701 E 11th St., Austin, TX 78701. For reservations call 1-888-627-8349 and mention that you are attending the TCRMF meetings. The cutoff date for reservations at the discounted rate (single $146.00/double $146.00 ) is Sunday, March 18, 2018. After that, rooms and rates are based on availability. Any special accommodation requirements should be addressed with the hotel when making room reservations. A hotel reservation does not register you for the workshop.
The Fund has continuing education sponsor agreements with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Social Workers, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists. Continuing Legal Education credits have also been applied for from the State Bar of Texas.
The workshop will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude by 3:30 p.m. Full breakfast and lunch are included.
